Princess

I call her my princess because that's what she is to me. She is one of the few things I love in this world and one of the fewer who loves me back. She is my first and only love. She is what gets me out of bed when i lack my own strength. And she is the only one whose touch can take away each and every one of my troubles.
When we were young and had not even had a taste of the real world yet, it felt real. Isn't that enough? It was enough for the both of us. I gave her a silver ring, inscribed with the word Princess and she wears it every day.
Out of High School, we went to separate colleges but we saw each other every month for a weekend at the lake where we shared our first kiss. The love between us grew even stronger even though we were apart. The summers were filled with even more love and on their last summer of their college years left  her with my child and an engagement ring on her finger. We were married on a rooftop in a light rain but that made it all the better. When the boy was born, we named him Andrew Michael and raised him through my graduate school and her part-time job. The child did not change the love we had for one another, but it made us a family.
Andrew Michael was a beautiful boy and grew up to be a nice young man. They were the best family anyone could ever ask for, and I was content. I had my princess. Together we could handle whatever the world threw at us.

This is what I was thinking when I called her and asked the most beautiful girl in school to the movies during the summer after my freshman year. I hoped that every word of it would become true...

Dear Charles Silver

Dear Charles Silver,

I miss you more than anything Charles, and nothing would make me happier than being back in your arms on the beach, listening to the seagulls cry and the waves dance on the horizon as the sun descends beneath it in its colorful show. But Charles, that is something that simply can be no more. The glistening love that was between us is gone and now the two of us must go forward with our lives. I will never forget you or the endless hours we spent together in the sun, but we must move on. But I am not without mercy or compassion so I leave you with this: If the time is right in the future, perhaps our bond may be reforged, but not now.

Sincerely and with love,
Sophia Diamond

A Heart For A Heart

Allison Hera ignored the spurts of blood that drenched her face in the wet liquid. She ignored the stench of the human body. She kept on stabbing her arm down with all her might at the chest of her once beloved. He had been dead for some minutes but that was not what Allison wanted. She tore his ribs from the cage and more blood splattered on her face. The organs' gruesomeness had no effect on her because she didn't notice them. Her mind was in a rage. All she wanted to do was take from Calvin what he had taken from her. Her Heart.

Allison Hera and Calvin McMann were the couple whose love was envied by their friends and family. Everyone wanted what they had. For years after finishing High School, the pair dated and moved in together. There relationship wasn't perfect, but it was the best either of them could dream of; Vacations at the beach and a romantic evening watching the sunset; or a meal prepared by both their hand and enjoyed in candlelight. She could open up her heart and soul to him and vice versa. She could tell him her problems, and Calvin listened, and when she cried, he would hold her in his muscular arms until she felt like the world could go on spinning. He was everything a woman could ask for, aside from his beautiful sandy hair and Olympian body.
He was hers and she was his.

All until Allison came to their small home where they planned to raise a child someday. She had gotten off early from her job as a bank teller because she had been exhausted lately. She walked into the door and called Calvin's name and was met with silence.
She trekked up the stairs and began to catch the sound of a high drone. The sound was coming from their bedroom. Without thinking she opened the door and was met with more emotions than she could handle. There was Calvin, on top of some girl on their bed. Neither of them noticed poor Allison in the doorway, but continued to engage in their vile game.

Allison shut the door and slumped down against the wall outside. She did nothing but cry while the sound of Calvin's betrayal in the background. Several minutes later, the noise subsided, as well as the tears. As if in a trance, she walked down to the kitchen and grabbed one of the knives from the set, and stalked about upstairs.
As if in a trance, she threw open the door to her room in time to see the slut just putting back on her clothes and her boyfriend lying on the bed, satisfied with his work. Allison didn't hear the words coming from their mouths, and payed no attention to their eyes streamline for the knife clutched tightly in her hand. The whore ran from the room but Allison ignored her.
Calvin was the one responsible. He was the one who ripped out her heart, and she was determined to make him feel the same pain...

Dear My Love Sophia

Dear My Love Sophia,

Since you left, nothing has been the same... At our old beach house, the sound of the gulls, the waves and the wind on the trees has dulled. The vivid colors of the blue-green sea and the red and yellow colors of the sunset have been reduced to a black and white overcast. The sun in the sky has refuse to come out and kiss my skin as it did the pair of us. The exotic foods we so bravely tried together have lost their tang and their excitement. My heart is pierced by a thousand knives and my mind is plagued with visions of what was. I cannot sleep without you beside me and I cannot bear to think of what life will be like without you.

Please come back to me Sophia, I never meant to hurt you and you know it, so why do you torture me so? I love you and I have only ever loved you. There is nothing I wouldn't give to hold you on the beach again and have you whisper my name into my ears. Nothing in the world. You have me on my knees, begging like a dog...

Come back My Love Sophia

Forever Yours,
Charles Silver

The Clock Does Not Stop

How can four years mean so little to someone. To Alec, those four years were ones of happiness, and love. When he met her, he knew that she was the only person he could love. Her eyes of pure azure of a Summer day; her smile and laugh that could make Alec feel like the world was halfway decent; her hair that was like god-woven silk that always adorably never stayed the way she wanted it earning her the nick-name "Friz-abel"; and her name that made Alec's heart skip a beat every time.
He sat on the park bench, watching her burgundy Ford drive away, wherein lie her already packed bags. He whispered her name; "Isabel" himself. He could barely choke out the last syllable before his eyes were assaulted by tears and his mind filled with her voice telling him that she was leaving. She told him not to say anything and he obeyed because he saw in those beautiful eyes that there was no way to change her mind. He knew that no matter how desperate his plea or how heavy his heart, she would leave all the same.
He tried to fight the tears and sadness. He never cried in public. He got up and walked slowly to his own car where he couldn't even start the engine before a flood of tears and emotion came with such force that he was not at all prepared to keep it at bay. And rightly so.
He had only minutes before just had his heart ripped from his chest and spat upon. He stood idly by and said nothing as Isabel walked away from him...

He was a broken man for weeks afterwards. In anger he trashed his home, intentionally throwing a picture of Isabel at a clock she had given him on their first Christmas together, and it then lie on the wall useless and imobile. He lost his job for being physically incapable of leaving his house for days; The city was filled with endless memories of him and Isabel. He had panic attacks where he could hardly breath on numerous occasions. His dreams were filled with her face, her voice, her touch. But when he opened his eyes, the agony of reality hit him and he was once more reduced to tears. For a month and a half he was like this; a half of a whole, and a fish out of water. But one day he got a call from his landlady of late rent, and a warning of eviction.
It was a day later when the reality of the problem hit him. He had not had a positive transaction in his bank account since the break-up and his money was running dangerously low. He needed to get his head back into the world and out of the storm-clouds.
After days of searching he found a job, not a good one but a job. Weeks later, he went on his first date since his break up. she was nice and pretty but not for him. He moved on. A month after that, he got a better job at a Newspaper as an assistant. Later, more girls, and a promotion and he had the clock that he had broken repaired. He had finally picked up the pieces of his life and had a steady relationship a year and a half after his break up with Isabel. He had all but pushed her from his mind.

One day, Two years after his break up, he got a knock at his door. The Alec answered it, tired after a hard days work. What hit him first were her familiar blue eyes, then the hair, then the smile. Isabel appeared in his life again. After several seconds of silence, her arms were suddenly around his neck, and her lips against his.
All of the sadness and anger from two years before vanished in that instant. Then returned a second later when he broke the contact and gently pushed her away. He had nothing to say, and neither did she. She walked out of the door without a word. Before she left, Alec caught a glimpse of a shining tear on her cheek. But still said nothing. The door closed with a soft click and he did not rush out after her, or call her name.
He only whispered it to himself, but his heart continued a steady beat, steady as the clock above the door...
